The Bar & Bistro

Brewery, coming out of covid restrictions in May 2021. I dived straight in with much to learn and improve as we progressed.
Fast Forward to November 2022, my best friend, George Buckley joined our kitchen team. This is when the Bar & Bistro as we know it Today was born. Geroge and I, now both only 24-year-old, have a clear vision in mind for our establishment.
An award-winning restaurant aiming to stand out in North Cornwall, to be recognised as one of the best in the area. Flipping the idea of a brewery on its head. Serving exquisitely prepared dishes using the amazing produce that Cornwall has to offer. Keeping Province by using the quality real ale, produced in the brewery next door, in as many of our dishes as possible.
Where Next
In June 2023 we won our 1st AA Rosette for culinary excellence, we were both in agreement that it is the greatest achievement of our careers to date, with as far as our knowledge goes, being one of the youngest restaurant owner and one of the youngest head chefs in the country with this prestigious award that so few achieve. This was topped by being entered into the upcoming newest addition of the Trencherman’s Guide, placing as a higher member, rubbing shoulders with the best of the southwest. Along with our entry came our nomination for the trencherman’s awards 2024, as Best Newcomer Restaurant. An achievement anyone of us would have thought would have been out of reach for this early into our development.
This in turn has boosted George and I to push to the next level, further developing our menus, service, and drinks to continue our improvement and development. The release of our newest menus is testament of that, serving the finest quality Cornish ingredients with precision and care.
Moving forward we are developing our amazing team and pushing boundaries as far as we can take them, with aspirations of multiple AA Rosettes and a mention in the Michelin guide in future years. We want to make a impact on the Cornish hospitality scene by doing things our way, showcasing our passion and love for producing an experience of exceptional quality and fun.
